Catching up on pictures

I forgot to take front photo of our house. So here it is.
Here is a planter that I did for our front door. Actually I made 2 of them.

Hadley being silly

Outside grilling

Yes, she dressed herself. It is 90 degrees and she stills wants those long flowered pants on (even today she tried to put them on).

Check out the little slugger.

Here are some pictures from our first few days in Auburn. Brent and Hadley heard the icecream man down the street, so they had to go and check things out.

The icecream adventure was a success.

So was just so cute, I had to take her picture!

New York City, Baby!

Rhonda & I headed to NYC for a little sisters/girls weekend. She connected in DFW so we could fly to the big city together. Of course there was weather issues, delays, lost luggage, missed dinner reservations, but we finally made it to the Big Apple. We were both exhausted by the time we made it to the hotel. We stayed at a great place right in the middle of Time Square.
The next morning, we headed out to see the city. Our first stop was to see GMA, right around the corner. I love GMA so this was a real treat for me. Diane, Chris, Sam, & Robin always start my morning off right. It was fun to see them in action. We were front row on the cooking segment with Emeril. But we didn't get on TV.

Then we hopped on a tour bus to see the city. This is truly a cheap and fun way to see the city. You can get on and off when you want and you get to learn about the area. We went to the Museum of Natural History. You may remember the movie, Night at the Museum.
Central Park

China Town.

Rhonda outside of Junior's. Great place to grab breakfast or a cheesecake (or cheesecake for breakfast). It was right next to our hotel.

Time Square

Site of Ground Zero. You can see the cranes working on new construction in the area.

China town, again.
Me outside our hotel.

Rhonda with the nightlife going on behind her.

I just thought this was really funny. A bunch of dog walkers had met up were giving the dogs a rest. Each dog walker had about 6 dogs.

Rhonda eating a hotdog outside of the Museum of Modern Art. Cheapest meal ever, $3 for a dog and a bottle of water. Right next to Central Park. Tons of people out eating lunch and enjoying the music from some street performers.

Little Italy, yummo! Ate at a great little pizza place.

Rhonda & I waiting for a cab to take us to dinner at a wonderful Asian restaurant, Tao. I highly recommend it!

On the way to the airport, our driver took this picture. It was just really funny. He stopped the car on the bridge to get just the right shot.
While in NYC we also saw the Broadway show Wicked. It was fabulous! We went shopping in Chinatown, Soho, and a bunch of other great places. I had been to NYC twice when I was in high school. The city had changed a lot, and all for the better. It was much cleaner and safer! We didn't see anyone begging for money! We had a great time and ate a lot of great food.

Greetings from Alabama

Okay, I know it has been a while since I posted. Things have been a little busy. Rhonda and I spent a great weekend in New York City from May 14- 17. On May 19, the moving truck arrived. From May 20-27, we were homeless as we drifted between Searcy and WR. Our belongings took a tour of the southeast coast before arriving in Auburn. On Wednesday, May 27, Jan, Hadley, & I got up and headed to Auburn. Brent and Dewey had gone down the day before to take care of the utility stuff. Anyway, we left at 4:00am headed to our new house. We left early to avoid the traffic in Memphis. While in Memphis, we had a flat tire. We were driving in the rough area of town when it happened, of course. Luckily, Jan has an AAA membership so we called to get some help. So we waited on a luckily busy and visible corner on Getwell Ave. Yeah, Getwell is a little rough. After about an hour, God sent us an angel with gold teeth. He fixed the tire and took care of the crackhead that was hanging a little too close for my comfort. Then we headed to Wal-Mart in Southaven to purchase a new tire; the hole was too large to patch. So after an over 2 hour layover in Memphis, we were back on the road. All in all, it took us 10 and 1/2 hours to make it to our new house. Brent & Dewey had made it in 7 1/2! Did I mention that Hadley slept for 30 minutes the entire trip? Did I mention that she either sang, read books, or talked to herself for the remaining 10 hours straight? Did I mention that the night before I had only slept 2 hours? As you can imagine, I was a little on edge by the time we reached Auburn. Here are some pictures of our new house.

For some reason, I forgot to get an outside shot of the house. I'll have to do that later. Hope to have visitors soon. We do have a guest room, but it is a disaster right now. I'm about to start cleaning and clearing it out.
